    HOW TO OVERCOME BEAT BLOCK

We have all been there. There comes a time in every producers life , whether you are an amateur, hobbyist or professional, where you have a really hard time creating a melodic pattern, developing a beat or finishing a track..!

You spend hours looking at your DAW trying to find the best path for your production but the flames of inspiration are not running through your veins...below are a few helpful tips to help you overcome producers block (or what is known as beat block):

    1. Take a break

There is no use in trying to force creativity and inspiration. Chances are you need to clear your mind and take a break. Save your session, close your DAW and do something completely different: work out, go outside, watch a movie, read a book, just tune out of your previous mindset in order to reset your creative juices.

    1. Change and tidy your environment

If you are experiencing a kind of numbness in your creative brain cells then try changing your environment completely! Consider making changes to your workstation set up, either by rearranging the layout of your audio components or, if you produce music at home, change the room where the magic happens...!

Having a tidy, organized workspace is crucial to let your creative process flow naturally so make sure your hardware, accessories and components are comfortably set up around you.

    1. Try out a new instrument (real or virtual)

An amazing way of gaining extra inspiration and ideas is to play a new instrument (real or virtual). It will be a rewarding experience and you will definitely absorb all the extra creative power it has to offer!

    1. Try producing a completely different genre

If you are stuck in a creative dead end and you usually produce one particular style or genre of music, it is very helpful to go outside your comfort zone and experiment with new genres. Try producing a completely different style and you will see how it will be a positive experience for the future. If necessary check out tutorials online.

    1. Listen to new music

Listening to new music can be the biggest source of inspiration for any artist. Whether you stay in your lane and do not go outside your genre or you explore new sounds and styles, you are not familiar with, hearing some new tunes will definitely take you away from the routine!

    1. Download new VSTs

Considering playing and producing with new software, specially VSTs. Each vst has its own special highlights and functionalities. If you have explored all the potential that your current VST has to offer maybe it is time to give other plugins a try!

    1. Collaborate with a friend

Get yourself a friend or a partner to collaborate with. The back and forth of ideas and exchange of creative inputs and techniques can be truly valuable to take your inspiration to the next level!

    1. Grab some sample packs from Future Loops

With such a massive pool of samples to choose from you can take your sound to the next level easily! Sometimes all you need to do to break that creative block is to grab yourself some inspirational samples from Future Loops and get your mojo back !

And remember , keep making great music! :)
